Before You Start

Congratulations and welcome to UCF Global at the University of Central Florida! Before you arrive, complete the steps below to avoid common issues and delays for international students. If you have any questions, contact us and we’ll be happy to help!

After you receive the electronic copy of your I-20, complete the following steps before booking your visa appointment:

  1. Schedule a free visa information and preparation session with your personal Enrollment Advisor.
  2. Check that the details on your I-20 are correct (including your date of birth) and make sure your name is the same as it appears on your passport.
  3. Prepare the documents you will need to take to the embassy when attending your visa interview.

Original Documents:

    • Academic transcripts, sealed in an envelope and certified
    • Academic certificates
    • English proficiency test scores
    • Bank statement

After you complete the above steps, you should apply for your visa as soon as possible. It requires an interview with the US Embassy and can sometimes take several weeks to schedule.

    1. Complete your Visa application.
    2. Pay your I-901 (SEVIS) fee.
    3. Visit usembassy.gov to learn more about scheduling your visa appointment, what to expect when you arrive, and the documentation you need to take with you.
    4. Notify your enrollment advisor of the date and embassy location of your visa appointment.

As you purchase your ticket, please plan to arrive on or before your scheduled move-in day. Orientation may occur before move-in day. After booking your flight, you must complete the arrival form.

Book Your Flight to Orlando, Florida

Please make travel arrangements to arrive in Orlando before your program start date. Once your flight is confirmed, submit your arrival information through the Pathway Programs Next Steps form no later than 15 days before the program begins.
Providing your travel details in advance allows us to:

  • Confirm your housing assignment and course enrollment
  • Ensure a smooth arrival and help avoid enrollment delays after you reach campus

Airport Transportation

Orlando International Airport (MCO) is a 30-minute drive from the UCF main campus. Taxis and ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft are readily available at the airport. You can also pre-book shuttle services, which are often a more affordable option.

Depending on the provider, you can either schedule your transportation in advance or arrange it upon arrival.

Move-In Dates
For all application and payment deadlines, as well as move-in and program start dates, please visit the Important Dates page.

Enrollment in classes occurs during orientation. Students have until the Friday of the second week of classes to pay for their tuition and fees.

Before you start, have your acceptance letter handy, as you’ll need it for reference.

To get started, follow these important steps to set up your UCF student account.

  1. Get your UCF Network ID (NID): If you do not know your NID (username), visit UCF Global’s NID Setup page or use the “What is my NID?” tool on my.ucf.edu.
  2. Create Password: Once you have your NID, follow the steps on the NID Setup page to create a password.
  • Log in to myUCF: Access my.ucf.edu to access Student Self Service and update personal information as needed.
  • Set up Email: Your UCF email is generated upon admission. Your UCF email is your NID@UCF.EDU

All newly admitted UCF Global students are required to submit official academic documents. Please submit the following as soon as possible to avoid enrollment delays.

Electronic Transcripts –. Official electronic transcripts should be sent via email address by the issuing institution: globaladmissions@ucf.edu. In addition, the University accepts transcripts through Electronic Parchment and National Student Clearinghouse. Preferably students should use the globaladmissions@ucf.edu for delivery of these documents.

Paper Transcripts – Official physical transcripts should be sent directly to the UCF Global Admissions Office by the issuing institution, or provided in person by student at the time or arrival.

Anticipated College Credit Earned Form
This form will help inform your Academic Advisor about any college credits that you have already earned from another college and/or AP/IB/CLEP/ Cambridge exam scores.

College enrollment: official college transcripts and/or WES/Josef Silny evaluations are required at the time of the application. For any in-progress college enrollment at the time of the application, final documents are required to be provided during orientation via the Electronic or Paper delivery options described above.
AP/CLEP: Need to be sent to UCF directly from the College Board.
IB: IB results need to be sent to UCF via the transcript request system (rrs.ibo.org)
Cambridge AS/A Levels: Students can present physical certificate/results in person during orientation, or institutions can send via email to globaladmissions@ucf.edu using Cambridge Grade Transcript Service.

Before you can register for classes, all newly admitted students must submit the mandatory UCF Immunization Health History form. Please complete this form before you arrive and bring it with you to orientation.

Before traveling to the US, all incoming undergraduate students in the UCF Global program must complete a math placement test. However, this requirement does not apply to students enrolled in the pre-sessional English program.

UCF Global guarantees on-campus housing for all admitted Pathway Program students who complete the Next Steps Form by the required deadline. Two on-campus options are available:

Tower at Knights Plaza — Apartment-style, four private bedrooms, two shared bathrooms, three same-sex roommates. Pricing: Fall $5,863 | Spring $5,863 | Summer C $3,570. Contracts are available for two or three terms.

NorthView — Apartment-style, four private bedrooms, four private bathrooms, three same-sex roommates. Pricing: Fall $5,169 | Spring $5,169 | Summer C $3,445. Requires a 12-month (three-semester) commitment.

All UCF Global on-campus residents receive a complimentary linen pack (sheet set, comforter, pillow, towels, shower curtain, bathmat, laundry basket, trash can, and hangers). Housing preference is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis — complete the Next Steps Form promptly.

Students must submit housing preferences through the myINTL portal rather than applying directly through UCF Housing, and housing is assigned based on availability. Signed housing contracts and timely payment are required to confirm placement, and early move-in may be available for an additional fee.

UCF Global hosts a mandatory orientation session for all new Pathway students at the start of each semester. Orientation includes a campus tour, introduction to academic advisors, housing check-in, and the Global Knights Welcome Event. Students must complete the Online International Student Orientation (via UCF’s online portal) before arriving on campus. Orientation dates are listed on the acceptance letter and at www.global.ucf.edu/programs/calendar-ptw/.

During the first year, students are only able to join on campus employment opportunities.

As a UCF student in the second academic year, students have access to a wide range of internship, research, and professional development opportunities. UCF connects students to more than 33,000 internships and service projects each year, giving students a real-world advantage before they graduate.
